I’ll get deeper later but here are the 5 things stress can cause:

  1. Chronic stress ( intense stress for a long time)
  2. Imbalance in the body
  3. Temporary sickness
  4. Fatal disease
  5. Death

So, as you can see, too much stress is dangerous, but a little stress can be good if it will motivate you to do something or be better. Sometimes stress can help you stay motivated and inspired to finish a project because stress will bring that project in your head all the time and you can’t forget about it and the only way to get rid of it from your mind is to finish it.

How stress really work in your body:

  1. The forebrain receive danger signals from the eyes, ears and other senses
  2. The hypothalamus activates the pituitary gland that releases the hormones
  3. The senses are being activated, like dilated pupils
  4. Respiratory rate increase and you start taking deep breaths
  5. The liver releases sugar, cholesterol and fat acids in the blood
  6. The digestion stops and the bladder and bowel orifices contract
  7. The adrenal glands release adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisone, which leads to sweating and high blood coagulation capacity

Constant stress can make you sick and here are some of the diseases. Some of them are temporary until you manage the stress level, some are life time diseases:

  • alopecia (baldness)
  • headache
  • migraines
  • strokes
  • low immune system
  • nervousness
  • lack of sleep
  • neck and shoulders pain
  • lower back and leg pain
  • asthma
  • skin diseases
  • high blood pressure
  • poor blood circulation
  • heart diseases
  • some types of cancer
  • indigestion
  • ulcers
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • impotence
  • menstrual disorders
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • bad decisions
  • poor creativity
  • apathy
